Padua : City of frescoes. Giotto and giotteschi.

A huge heritage left on the walls of numerous funeral Chapel such as Scrovegni Chapel, a masterpiece in the history of painting in Italy and Europe in the 14th century,it is considered to be the most complete series of frescoes executed by Giotto in his mature age., the Batistery of the Cathedral holds the work of the florentin master Giusto the Menanabuoi. Our tour end is the Basilica of Saint Antony, which among others, it contains very precious works frescoed by Altichiero da Zevio in the San Giacomo Chapel or the Belludi Chapel were we find again Giusto de Menabuoi.

Classic Tour:

A nice walk around the city center, visiting the famous University Palace "The Bo", as well as the oldest Caffé in Padua, tasting a good coffee in Caffé Pedrocchi. In the close market squares we can smell the fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Between Fruit and Herbs squares it stands the huge Palazzo della Ragione also called the Salone, the ancient Palace of Justice built in the late 13 th century and still maintaing it's charm. Walking throught the narrow porticos of the ancient Jewish "Ghetto", we can reach the sensational Basilica of Saint Anthony, a blaze of art and religion.

The Brenta River and Palladian Villas

Due to his charm, the Brenta River over the 16th through the 18th centuries , became the most popular place to spent summer holidays. Thanks to the numerous Villas built by Venitians close to the river, today it is possible to admire the way they lived still sharing the beautifull atmosphere of a timeless carnival both visiting their park or gardens such as of Villa Pisani a real Doge's Palace in the dryland, or the small by concentrated pills of history and art in Villa Foscari la malcontenta built by Palladio and Villa Rezzonico Sceriman witness of the old rococò style. These are only few of the 4000 villas existing in our Region.

Walled Cities

To arrive in Montagnana is a unique experience. With its mighty encircling walls it is a masterpiece of military art that gives the sensations of the romantic Middles Ages. Este, that was an important center for the ancient Venetic culture, as attested by the exceptional numberof exhibits in ht national Archeological Museums, still bears the 14th c. walls built by the Lord family Da Carrara. On the top of Rocca Hill in Monselice we can admire the first fortification section started in the 12th c. extended in the 13th c. by Emperor Federico II. A visit to Cini Castle is a musto to know better Middle Ages
